Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How soon can the job be started?

A: NW Quality Painting employs professional full time painting contractors. Depending on the time of year, backlogs may vary; however, we are able to accommodate most time frames. Work is usually performed during a normal work week, Monday through Friday. Once we have a signed contract, your job is placed on our schedule and your interior or exterior painting will soon begin!

Q: How long do the jobs normally take to complete?

A: Once our team begins the painting process, we will be there on consecutive days until your job is completed. Team sizes and product drying times will determine how long each project takes to complete.

Q: What effect does weather have on painting?

A: Let's face it, the Pacific Northwest can be a little damp at times. We will paint only on days that are suitable for painting. Your job is fully warranted, and we will not do any exterior painting in conditions that may jeopardize this warranty.

Q: What should I, as a homeowner, do before the painting is started?

A: It is a good idea to provide sufficient access to all areas of your home before being painted. This includes trimming plants and shrubs, moving potted plants, patio furniture, tools, etc. On interiors, we recommend that you take down all wall hangings, window coverings, knick knacks, and clean out entertainment centers, hutches, or bookcases. By providing clear access for our painting contractors to begin work, you will allow us to do a more thorough job. This also makes the job site a safer work environment. If you need help with heavy or high items, please ask, as we are happy to lend a helping hand.

Q: Does someone have to be home during the painting process?

A: Not necessarily, but we do recommend it. We prefer that you watch our work progress so we may answer any questions you may have. At times we may require access to electricity and water too. All doors will need to be open during the painting process and left open 3 to 5 hours for proper drying time. If you are unable to be at home, we can make special arrangements with you.

Q: What can I expect at the completion of the job in regards to clean up?

A: Leaving a job site clean is very important to all of us at Preferred Painting. All materials used during the job will be removed. Paint scrapings and dust will be swept from walkways, driveways, decks, and interiors will be vacuumed. Our goal is to leave your home looking neat and clean upon completion.

Q: What paint products does NW Quality Painting use?

A: We use only high quality products from major manufacturers like Parker Paint and Sherwin Williams. At times we may use products from different companies because each job has different painting needs. This way we are able to provide the best products for your job.

Q: How is the payment handled?

A: NW Quality Painting requires payment in full upon the completion of your interior or exterior house painting. We do not normally bill you. Personal checks are fine. We first require a deposit so your job can be placed within our painting schedule. Once your painting is completed, we require payment in full by personal check, cash, VISA, or MasterCard.

Q: What should I do if I have a complaint?

A: If you have any problems with your interior or exterior house painting or with any of our employees, please let us know. We want you to be fully satisfied with NW Quality Painting. Please remember that your finished job is a reflection of our company and your satisfaction is our most important asset!
